Office Decommissioning in Orlando, FL

We will be straight with you, because the companies bidding against us usually are not.

Clearing an office costs money. Crews, trucks, dock time, disassembly, dump fees and after-hours building access are all real expenses, and most used office furniture does not have enough resale value to cover them. What we can promise is this: we will always come in cheaper than a dedicated decommissioning company, and if there is genuine value in your furniture, our removal quote will be dramatically cheaper.

And if you are furnishing a new space, there is a better option than either — see Green Credits below.

The Honest Version of What Your Old Furniture Is Worth

Almost every business we walk through believes their furniture is worth more than it is. That is normal — you paid real money for it.

The market disagrees. Laminate desks, older cubicle panels, mismatched task chairs and general wear-and-tear product cost more to move, store and photograph than they will ever sell for. When someone tells you otherwise on the phone, they are buying time to get to the walkthrough.

What does hold value: current-generation seating from Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth and Knoll, recent height-adjustable desks, late-model benching and panel systems, and clean conference and reception product. If that describes part of your inventory, the numbers change quickly.

We assess it honestly, in writing, before anything moves.

Green Credits: Put the Old Office Toward the New One

This is where most of our clients land, and it is the option nobody else in Orlando offers.

If you are opening, relocating or refurnishing and buying your new furniture from us, we assess your existing furniture and issue a green credit — a dollar value applied against your new furniture order.

You get the space cleared for the landlord, you get money back in your pocket, and the furniture stays out of a landfill. One vendor handles the exit and the build-out, on one schedule, with one point of contact. Green credits apply only to furniture purchased from us, and the credit is confirmed in writing before you commit to anything.

For most businesses this is the cheapest possible way to leave one office and open another.

Do You Ever Pay Cash for Used Furniture?

Rarely — but yes, sometimes.

Outright purchase is reserved for top-brand inventory in genuinely good condition: Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, Knoll and comparable lines. If your office is full of Aerons and current-generation workstations, send it through for qualification. If it is not, a green credit or a low-cost removal will almost always serve you better, and we will tell you that rather than string you along.

How to Get an Accurate Quote

Every quote starts with a qualification review. Guessing over the phone helps nobody.

Email a list of your furniture with photos to buy@floridadesks.com — include quantities, brands if you know them, and a few wide shots of each area. Manufacturer labels are usually under the seat or on the back of the panel.

From that we tell you what qualifies for purchase, what qualifies for a green credit, and what the removal will cost. If the project is large or you would rather not photograph it yourself, we will come walk the space instead. Either way the assessment is free and carries no commitment.

How It Works

1. Send the list and photos

Email buy@floridadesks.com with your inventory, your lease exit date and your floor plan if you have one.

2. Qualification and written scope

You get one document: what qualifies for purchase, what earns a green credit, what gets donated or recycled, what the labor costs, and the net number.

3. Decommission

One crew, working evenings and weekends where the building requires it, coordinated with your property manager’s insurance and freight elevator rules.

4. Handover pack

Photos of the cleared space, donation receipts and a certificate of completion for your landlord.

Closing, Downsizing, or Moving?

Not every exit is a closure. If you are relocating within Central Florida, we clear the old space and furnish the new one as a single project — which is exactly what green credits are built for. Start with office space planning and we will design the new layout around whatever is genuinely worth keeping.

Who We Do This For

Facility and office managers running a lease exit. Commercial property managers turning over a suite. General contractors clearing space before a tenant improvement build. Law firms, medical practices and agencies consolidating floors. Corporate real estate teams closing a Central Florida location from out of state — handled without anyone flying in.

Service Area

Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Heathrow, Kissimmee, Lake Nona, Downtown Orlando, Winter Garden, Sanford and the surrounding Central Florida area.

Office Decommissioning FAQs

How much does office decommissioning cost in Orlando?

It depends on square footage, workstation count, building access and how much of your inventory qualifies. We will always be less than a dedicated decommissioning company, and where there is real value in the furniture the difference is substantial. You get the number in writing before anything moves.

Will you buy our used office furniture?

Occasionally. Outright purchase is limited to top-brand product in good condition — Herman Miller, Steelcase, Haworth, Knoll and similar. Most offices do better with a green credit or a reduced removal cost, and we will tell you honestly which category you fall into.

What is a green credit?

An assessed dollar value for your existing furniture, applied against new furniture purchased from us for your new space. It clears the old office and reduces the cost of the new one at the same time. Green credits apply only to purchases made with us.

Why isn’t my furniture worth more?

Because moving it costs money. Labor, trucks, dock time, storage and disposal are real expenses, and standard laminate desks, older panels and worn seating rarely resell for more than it costs to handle them. Brand-name and current-generation product is the exception.

How much notice do you need?

Four to six weeks is comfortable. We handle tighter deadlines regularly, but the value in your furniture drops the less time there is to place it — so call early if the lease date is fixed.

How long does the work take?

A single-floor suite is typically one to three days on site. Multi-floor projects run longer, and we schedule backwards from your lease exit date.

What happens to furniture that doesn’t sell?

Donation to Central Florida nonprofits where condition allows, with receipts for your records, and responsible recycling for the rest.

Do you handle IT equipment and data destruction?

We remove and recycle monitors, cabling and peripherals. Certified drive destruction is coordinated through a specialist partner and included in one scope.

Who is responsible for restoring the space — us or the landlord?

Your lease decides. Send us the exit clause and we will tell you what falls in scope before you commit.

Can you work nights and weekends?

Yes. Most Orlando office buildings require after-hours freight elevator access, and we schedule around building rules as standard.
